MIAMI - Late Monday night, a significant police presence was observed at Bayside Marketplace in Miami, resulting in the arrest of four juveniles, as reported by WPLG-TV. The incident took place after officers responded to reports of a large group of unruly youths causing chaos within the mall.

According to the arrest reports, the minors were allegedly engaged in disruptive behavior, including lighting fireworks and inducing panic amongst shoppers. Witnesses informed Local 10 News that some of the juveniles were even throwing fireworks at each other and into the air, endangering those present.

As the situation escalated, the group entered multiple businesses within the mall, causing damage to several stores. Authorities also revealed that a significant fight broke out among the juveniles, with some potentially wielding sticks or similar objects as weapons.

To manage the situation effectively, certain businesses agreed to temporarily close their doors, which allowed the law enforcement officers more space to secure the area. Consequently, a six-block section of Biscayne Boulevard was closed to traffic as police worked to regain control of the situation.

However, as the juveniles were forcefully evacuated from Bayside, they proceeded to move west into downtown Miami. Local 10 News witnessed rowdy crowds that required police intervention to disperse and maintain order.

Soon after, authorities received another distress call regarding a disturbance at a nearby 7-Eleven involving the same group of juveniles. As an officer led approximately 50 of them away from the scene, he witnessed a separate incident involving 10 to 15 youths assaulting a victim near Southeast Third Avenue and Second Street.

Although the group managed to flee the scene, four adolescent males were apprehended shortly thereafter inside a nearby parking garage. According to the victim, two of the detained individuals were identified as being directly involved in the assault. Both suspects, aged 15 and hailing from Opa-locka and Miami, were charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, grand theft, battery, and resisting an officer without violence.

Additionally, two other juveniles, aged 14 and 16 and both from Miami, were taken into custody on charges of resisting an officer without violence. The victim, who had his iPhone 13 Pro Max stolen from his vehicle during the altercation, cooperated with the police investigation.

Miami police officials confirmed the arrests on Tuesday morning, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the community. The incident at Bayside Marketplace highlights the potential consequences of unruly behavior by youths, warranting swift and decisive action to maintain public order.

The investigation into the disturbance is ongoing, and further updates may be provided by authorities as more information becomes available.
