Kentucky Murder Suspect Escapes While Awaiting Trial, Manhunt Underway

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. - Authorities in Pulaski County, Kentucky, have launched a manhunt for Samuel Baker, a murder suspect who escaped while awaiting trial for the 2021 killing of Robert Claunch. The 24-year-old Baker was previously placed on home incarceration with an ankle monitor after being granted a bond reduction in August.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, Baker absconded in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He removed his ankle monitoring device and fled his home located on Hwy 39 in Somerset. The suspect left the area in a 2017 red Chevrolet Corvette, which was subsequently recovered in northern Pulaski County. However, Baker was not found near the abandoned vehicle.
Law enforcement officials believe that Baker may be armed, as they have reason to believe he is carrying a firearm with him during his escape. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and report any sightings of the suspect to the police immediately.
In addition to searching for Baker, investigators also revealed that he is currently believed to be traveling in the company of Adriana Brown, a 28-year-old woman. The two are believed to be traveling in a 2016 black Dodge Grand Caravan. Given the presence of a potentially armed and dangerous suspect, law enforcement agencies are intensifying their efforts to locate and apprehend the pair swiftly.
