Israeli air raids have resulted in the deaths of at least 31 people in the Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps in central Gaza, according to the Ministry of Health in the Hamas-governed enclave. The strikes took place on Sunday and have added to the mounting casualties in the war-torn territory. Furthermore, a woman and her child were killed in southern Khan Younis city in separate airstrikes.

In addition to the Gaza bombings, two people were shot dead during Israeli incursions in the occupied West Bank. A disabled man named Issam al-Fayed, 46, lost his life at the entrance of the Jenin refugee camp, while Omar Laham, 20, was killed at the Dheisheh refugee camp south of Bethlehem, as reported by Palestinian news agency Wafa. These incidents have intensified the already dire situation on the ground.

The recent killings follow devastating assaults on schools and refugee camps in northern Gaza. The Al Fakhoura school in the Jabalia refugee camp was targeted, resulting in the loss of at least 50 lives, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Another attack on a school in Tall az-Zaatar has caused additional casualties.

Ahmed Radwan, a survivor of the Al Fakhoura attack, described the scene as horrifying, with women and children's bodies strewn across the ground. Witnesses have reported the unimaginable devastation, making it impossible for parents to recognize their own children. The ongoing violence has plunged the lives of Palestinians into a state of unimaginable suffering.

Marwan Bishara, a senior political analyst for Al Jazeera, likened the repeated targeting of Al Fakhoura school to the bombing of al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest medical facility. He stated that these attacks were not selective but designed to inflict damage, loss, and death.

Meanwhile, humanitarian concerns continue to surround al-Shifa Hospital as the Israeli army ordered hundreds of people to evacuate the facility. Patients, including amputees and critically ill babies, were seen leaving on foot, seeking safety from the ongoing airstrikes. The World Health Organization reported that 291 patients, including critically ill infants, trauma patients, and those with spinal injuries, remained in the hospital despite the dire conditions.

The conflict, which began when Hamas launched an attack on Israeli territory on October 7, has resulted in a devastating toll on the Palestinian population. At least 11,500 people, including over a third of them children, have lost their lives due to Israel's air and ground assault on Gaza. The 44-day war has also led to the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Palestinians, infrastructure destruction, and a severe humanitarian crisis.

The international community continues to call for an immediate end to the violence and a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The plight of innocent civilians, particularly women and children, remains a pressing concern amidst ongoing hostilities in the region.
