Birmingham, AL - In a shocking turn of events, a man was shot in the arm on Monday evening, October 23, 2023, in the parking lot of Kamtek, an east Birmingham business. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The shooting occurred moments before 10 p.m. at Kamtek, located on Sterilite Drive. Birmingham Police Sergeant LaQuitta Wade confirmed that the incident unfolded within the confines of the business' parking lot. Fortunately, despite sustaining a bullet wound to the arm, the injured man is expected to recover.

Sgt. Wade stated that it is yet to be determined whether any of the individuals involved in the shooting were employees of Kamtek. At this time, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

This isn't the first time that Kamtek has found itself in the midst of a violent incident this year. Earlier in the year, police responded to a report of a domestic kidnapping at the same business. The alarming episode escalated further, resulting in two women being shot. Tragically, the suspect responsible for the kidnapping and subsequent shootings ultimately took his own life in Gardendale.

The Birmingham Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the recent shooting to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation. Local residents and employees are encouraged to remain vigilant in order to uphold the safety and security of the community.
