Brentwood, Calif. - An investigation has been launched after pro-Palestinian protestors allegedly targeted the home of a Jewish family in Brentwood, igniting smoke bombs and throwing fake blood onto the driveway. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, has sparked outrage and calls for justice.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the home on Foxboro Drive around 10:45 a.m. on Thursday after receiving reports of vandalism, hate crime, and assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities are treating the incident as a terroristic hate crime.

The disturbing video, shared by Beverly Hills councilmember and former mayor Lili Bosse on Instagram, was captioned: "Thanksgiving. I have no words. Today, on Thanksgiving, pro-Hamas activists committed a terroristic hate crime in Brentwood. These extremist terrorist sympathizers threw smoke bombs at and vandalized the home of the national president of one of America's leading Jewish organizations. Trying to find light amidst this hatred. My heart is broken to see this. LAPD, LA Mayor, District Attorney, there must be consequences to this hate."

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass addressed the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, stating that she had spoken with Police Chief Michel Moore about the "disturbing incident." The mayor expressed her concerns and vowed to ensure proper action is taken to address the incident.

The targeted family has chosen to remain anonymous, but their neighbors and community members have rallied behind them, condemning the actions of the protestors and offering their support. The incident has ignited a broader discussion on the rise of hate crimes and the need for unity and tolerance within the community.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are pursuing all leads to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for this heinous act. The LAPD has urged anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. The Brentwood community, known for its diversity and inclusivity, is determined to stand up against hate and ensure the safety and well-being of all its residents.
