It has been nearly 48 hours since the last confirmed sighting of Robert Card, the fugitive suspected gunman in the Lewiston, Maine massacre. As law enforcement agencies continue their relentless search for Card, new developments have emerged, leaving investigators on high alert.

Former Boston Police Commissioner and WBZ-TV Security Analyst, Ed Davis, commented on the investigation, stating that in many ways, the trail has gone cold. However, recent findings at Card's residence have refueled efforts to locate him. Police discovered what appears to be a suicide note, believed to be addressed to Card's son, inside his home. This grim revelation has prompted a fresh round of search operations, including a dive team searching the river near where Card's car was found.

Speaking about the potential whereabouts of Card, Davis mentioned the possibility that he may be near the river if he left a suicide note and is contemplating ending his own life. However, with the current season causing leaves to fall from trees, locating Card in the dense woods, should he have ventured in that direction, poses an immense challenge for authorities.

Further complicating the investigation, federal agents executed a search warrant on a Bowdoin home yesterday, yelling "FBI, open the door!" Investigators were hoping to find any evidence left behind by Card or even locate the fugitive himself. Inside the residence, agents discovered the troubling suicide note. Sources report that the note was addressed to Card's son, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing manhunt.

As the search for Card continues, several communities in the area remain on lockdown, leaving residents increasingly anxious about when they will be able to resume normal activities. Davis acknowledges that it is a delicate balance for authorities, as Card is considered armed, dangerous, and potentially a threat to the community. At the same time, residents require essential supplies and cannot remain confined indefinitely.

The investigation into the Lewiston massacre and the hunt for Robert Card is far from simple. Law enforcement agencies are meticulously processing evidence from multiple scenes, a process that is expected to take several days. The discovery of the possible suicide note has intensified efforts to locate Card, with authorities hoping for a breakthrough in the ongoing manhunt.
