In a show of unity, multiple senior House Republican leaders have endorsed former President Donald J. Trump as the party's frontrunner for the 2024 presidential race. The latest endorsement came from Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., who expressed his support on Wednesday. Emmer's endorsement is seen as significant, considering his previously rocky relationship with Trump.

Emmer, the No. 3 House Republican, stated, "Democrats have made clear they will use every tool in their arsenal to try and keep Joe Biden and his failed policies in power. We cannot let them. It's time for Republicans to unite behind our party's clear frontrunner, which is why I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President."

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., also threw his support behind Trump on Tuesday, joining an ever-expanding list of senior House GOP leaders backing the former president. House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., was the first to endorse Trump, followed by NRCC Chair Richard Hudson, R-N.C., and Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La. With every senior House GOP leader now endorsing Trump, it is a clear indication of his continued influence and reign over the Republican Party.

The unity displayed by House Republican leadership is a powerful statement as Trump heads into the highly-anticipated Jan. 15 Iowa caucus. Trump has emerged as the dominating figure in the 2024 Republican primary polls and has even overtaken President Biden in some surveys of the general election.

According to a recent Fox News poll released on Dec. 17, Trump garnered an impressive 69% support in the primary race, a 7% increase from November. Such strong poll numbers have solidified his status as the frontrunner within the party.

Tom Emmer's endorsement holds additional significance due to his previous clashes with Trump. During his bid for House Speaker in October, Emmer faced criticism from Trump and his allies. Trump publicly attacked Emmer on his Truth Social platform, labeling him a "RINO" among other accusations. Despite this history, Trump endorsed Emmer for re-election in 2022, praising him as an "outstanding" representative who was dedicated to advancing GOP policy goals.

As the 2024 presidential race unfolds, the unwavering support from senior House GOP leaders for Donald J. Trump highlights his enduring hold on the Republican Party. With a strong showing in the polls and the backing of influential party figures, Trump's pursuit of the White House in 2024 appears more formidable than ever before.
