The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on January 12, at an intersection located approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, as reported by the city's police department in a news release.

According to the authorities, the pedestrian was crossing San Fernando Road in the middle of the block when a light-colored pickup truck, traveling in the wrong direction in the southbound lanes, collided with him. Tragically, the pedestrian was then struck by a large SUV, also traveling in the wrong direction.
