In a shocking turn of events, people cleaning a freezer at a recently sold home in western Colorado made a grisly discovery: a human head and human hands. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office confirmed the finding in an update on Thursday after an autopsy conducted by the coroner's office.

Officials from the sheriff's office stated that further testing is necessary before definitive answers can be provided, emphasizing the need for patience from the public as the investigation proceeds. The top priority for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office is to conduct a thorough and detailed investigation while remaining respectful of the victim and the victim's family.

Located in Grand Junction, about 200 miles west of Denver, the home became the unsettling scene where the remains were found. The sheriff's office revealed that the discovery was made inside a freezer within the house.

The initial news release mentioned that investigators believe this to be an isolated incident, pointing out that there is no ongoing threat to the community. However, the exact identity of the victim is yet to be positively established.

Residents in the neighborhood were left stunned by the investigation unfolding before them. Sam Troester, who lives across the street from the home, recounted how workers in white hazmat suits caught her attention, signaling the grave and unusual nature of the situation.

As the investigation continues and more information becomes available, the community and law enforcement anticipate a clearer understanding of this unsettling discovery.
