Former Democratic California Governor Jerry Brown has recently expressed his confidence in President Joe Biden, applauding him as the "man of the hour." However, Brown has remained tight-lipped when it comes to offering any remarks on Vice President Kamala Harris, who hails from their home state.

In a recent interview with NBC News, Brown spoke highly of President Biden, stating, "I would say he's the man of the hour. He's there." While discussing his overall thoughts on the Democratic Party's political strategy, Brown admitted to finding it challenging but stopped short of providing any specific insight or plans.

However, when questioned about Harris, who began her political career in California and climbed through the ranks to become California's Attorney General and a U.S Senator, Brown appeared to grow stiff and offered no comment. The NBC News report highlighted Brown's refusal to share any thoughts on "a fellow Californian who is next in line for presidential succession."

Regarding the media, Brown expressed criticism during the interview and reacted to Biden's response to a question about Chinese President Xi Jinping, which Brown claimed was "responsible" for the comment. He further criticized reporters, stating, "the reporters want to fan the flames of conflict leading to war because they're so damn stupid." Brown's remarks reflected his belief in the media's inclination to sensationalize and provoke unnecessarily.

With a political career spanning five decades, Brown emphasized the importance of evading embarrassing questions and indicated that it should be the first lesson for anyone in politics.

Governor Brown served two separate terms as California governor, from 1975 to 1983 and again from 2011 to 2019. Prior to becoming governor, he served as the state's Attorney General from 2007 to 2011, a position Harris later took over.

While Vice President Harris finds herself facing criticism within her own party and experiencing low popularity, she recently reacted to polls showing President Biden trailing former President Donald Trump in crucial swing states and hypothetical 2024 matchups. In a recent interview with CNN, Harris commented on the polling results, indicating that it is an issue of concern.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how these dynamics, along with Brown's perspective and Harris' response, will shape the future of the Democratic Party and their positions within it.
