The incident occurred on Thursday when the two five-year-old boys were involved in an altercation. Tragically, one of the brothers obtained a small kitchen knife and stabbed his twin sibling, resulting in a fatal injury.

Ashley Keehn, the public information officer for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, expressed deep sadness for the family, stating, "Through investigation, witness interviews, there was no negligence. This ended up being just a very tragic, horrific situation."

Authorities rushed the injured boy to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The loss is undoubtedly an unimaginable tragedy for the family and the entire community.
