Father Charged with Attacking and Killing 2 Young Children in Lancaster

Lancaster, Calif. - A devastating incident unfolded in Lancaster as a man was charged with attacking three young children and causing the death of two of them. Prosecutors announced on Wednesday that Prospero Guadalupe Serna is facing multiple charges, including two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault of a child under 8 years of age causing death, and one count of child abuse.
The tragic event came to light on Saturday, just before midnight, when the mother of the children made a distress call to 911, reporting that her children were being harmed. Law enforcement authorities from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department swiftly responded to the scene.
