Elon Musk Calls for Disney CEO Bob Iger's Immediate Firing Over Advertising Suspension on X

In a series of Tweets, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has demanded the immediate firing of Disney CEO Bob Iger after the company suspended advertising on X, formerly known as Twitter. Musk accused Iger of tarnishing Walt Disney's legacy and claimed that the late founder would be deeply disappointed with the current state of the company.
The move by Disney to halt their advertisements on X comes in the wake of concerns over antisemitism on the platform. Several other companies have also joined the ad boycott, leading Musk to lash out at them in a profanity-laced outburst at an event in New York. In his heated remarks, Musk told the boycotting companies to "Go [expletive] yourself" and accused them of attempting to blackmail him.
Disney has not yet responded to media inquiries regarding Musk's comments. However, this latest controversy adds to the challenges that Bob Iger has faced during his second tenure as CEO of the media giant. After retiring and then unexpectedly returning to steer Disney through difficult times, including a plummeting share price and losses from their streaming service Disney+, Iger has had to grapple with job cuts and other obstacles.
Elon Musk took a shot at Disney's recent weak box-office performances in one of his Tweets, claiming that Iger had dropped "more bombs than a B-52." He also criticized Disney for continuing to advertise on other social media platforms that allow controversial content.
This public feud between Musk and Disney's CEO comes just a week after Musk's controversial visit to Israel, during which he appeared to support an antisemitic conspiracy theory. Despite denying any antisemitic intentions, Musk received backlash, and advertisers have increasingly chosen to allocate their budgets elsewhere.
In July, Musk acknowledged that advertisement revenue on X had dropped by 50%. His outspoken presence on social media has not only caused trouble for X but also for his other venture, Tesla. In 2018, Musk had to pay $40 million to settle charges of defrauding investors through a misleading post about taking Tesla private.
As the situation unfolds, Musk's demands for Iger's immediate dismissal and the ramifications of the ad suspension on X continue to generate attention within the business and social media communities.
