In a shocking and tragic incident, disturbing new footage has emerged capturing the horrific moment Las Vegas teenager Jonathan Lewis was mercilessly beaten to death. The 17-year-old was attacked by a group of bullies in an alleyway near Rancho High School on November 1, resulting in fatal injuries.

Last week, a Clark County grand jury indicted four individuals—Dontral Beaver, 16; Damien Hernandez, 17; Treavion Randolph, 16; and Gianni Robinson, 17—in connection with Lewis' death. These individuals are facing a second-degree murder charge. It remains unclear whether they have entered a formal plea at this time. Meanwhile, five other individuals await adult certification in relation to the incident.

The new footage, obtained by 8 News Now, depicts Lewis being carried to safety by a concerned student and neighbor back to the high school following the brutal attack. Another video captures Lewis attempting to defend himself against the assailants, only to be stomped on by the group and ultimately knocked unconscious.

During the grand jury proceedings, a police officer testified that Robinson claimed to have been harassed by Lewis in the past over the alleged theft of a wax pen or a marijuana vape. The officer also mentioned that a friend of Lewis was armed with a knife and was seen in the new footage being chased and assaulted by the group.

A school official testified that Lewis had to be carried back to the school by a neighbor and a student for immediate medical assistance. Jonathan Lewis Sr., the teenager's father, expressed his anguish and called upon the world to reflect on the incident, urging society to strive for a better future.

Lewis was hospitalized with severe head trauma and other injuries following the attack and succumbed to his injuries a week later, according to the coroner's office in Las Vegas. Despite previous police citations for some of the individuals involved, only Hernandez was found to have a record, as he received a citation in 2021 for public marijuana consumption.

The incident has left the community and the school grappling with the tragic outcome of a conflict that stemmed from the alleged theft of a vape pen and wireless headphones. As the investigation continues and court proceedings unfold, this heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for awareness and measures against bullying and violence.

In the aftermath of Jonathan Lewis' untimely death, a makeshift memorial has been established in the alleyway, serving as a somber reminder of the consequences of such acts. Students, teachers, and staff at Rancho High School are left to mourn the loss of a young life and contemplate the steps needed to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As the legal process moves forward, the hope remains that justice will be served and that the tragic outcome of this senseless act of violence will serve as a catalyst for change and create a safer environment for all.
