MANCHESTER, N.H. - In a bid to ensure victory for Joe Biden in the upcoming New Hampshire primary, Democrats have launched a super PAC and a grassroots organization focused on encouraging voters to write in the President's name on the ballot. The move comes as top party officials and strategists mobilize to support Biden's write-in campaign, even as he chose not to appear on the primary ballot due to a dispute between the state and national Democratic parties.

During the Democratic Party's Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner in Manchester, attended by 500 Democrats, various party officials rose to fete Biden and urged attendees to write in his name on the ballot. Both Senator Jeanne Shaheen and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries emphasized the importance of ensuring a victory for the Biden-Harris campaign in the nation's first primary. The event also saw the presence of Congresswoman Annie Kuster, who sported a write-in Biden sticker on her pink blazer.

Dean Phillips, the longshot presidential candidate from Minnesota, found himself facing significant odds as the weight of the party establishment lined up behind Biden. Despite the dispute between the state and national parties, top Democrats have been working tirelessly to ensure Biden's success in the primary.

Longtime New Hampshire Democratic operative Kathy Sullivan confirmed the launch of a super PAC called Granite for America, aimed at fundraising and encouraging voters to write in Biden's name. Additionally, a separate grassroots organization called Granite State Write-In has been established to educate primary voters about the write-in process. The group has already brought on two staffers and plans to focus on voter education and organizing efforts.

While some Democrats express concern about the need for a more robust campaign, including TV ads and a larger presence at party events, the grassroots efforts and volunteer-run write-in campaign have gained momentum. The recent state Democratic Party dinner showcased the support for the write-in campaign, with numerous officials and activists spotted wearing Biden write-in stickers.

Ray Buckley, chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, acknowledged that Biden will not appear on the primary ballot but hopes that voters are aware of the rules surrounding the write-in process. State officials set the primary nearly two weeks before the South Carolina contest, following a refusal by Republicans to change the law and Democrats rejecting a party-run primary as too complex and costly.

A recent University of New Hampshire/CNN poll indicated that while support for Biden has slightly slipped, he still maintains significant popularity among likely Democratic primary voters. With 65% of respondents stating they would write in Biden's name, Phillips and candidate Marianne Williamson trail behind with 10% and 9% support respectively.

Despite the circumstances surrounding his absence from the ballot, Biden's allies remain optimistic about his chances to win the primary. Representative Ro Khanna, a member of the Biden campaign's national advisory board, expressed confidence in Biden's victory while advocating for his greater involvement in the contest.

As the primary draws closer, Democrats in New Hampshire are working tirelessly to ensure Biden's success through a write-in campaign, relying on grassroots efforts and a newly-launched super PAC to educate voters about the process and galvanize support.
