In a significant breakthrough, authorities in Maryland have arrested two suspects in connection with the tragic shooting death of a 2-year-old toddler. Israel Fuentes Jr., 33, and Johnny Alejandro Turcios, 28, both residents of Lewisdale, were identified as suspects in the murder of Jeremy Poou-Caceres in Langley Park, with the assistance of the local community.

Assistant Police Chief Vernon Hale expressed his gratitude towards the community, stating that they had shown tremendous support in helping the detectives gather crucial information and evidence leading to the arrests. The shooting took place near the Bedford Station Apartments in Langley Park at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Thursday.

According to investigators, Fuentes and Turcios, along with at least two others, were driving a carjacked gold SUV when they exited the vehicle and allegedly opened fire on another group. Tragically, stray bullets struck both Jeremy and his mother, who were walking nearby. Fortunately, Jeremy's mother survived the attack and is currently recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Both Fuentes and Turcios have been taken into custody and are being held in the county jail. They are facing charges that include first-degree murder. However, authorities are still actively searching for the remaining two suspects involved in the case. Assistant Police Chief Hale emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, stating, "We made two arrests, but there's two more out there... These are the cases we lose sleep over."
