Another child injured in a stabbing incident outside a school in Dublin has been discharged from the hospital. The attack, which left three children and a school care assistant injured, was followed by hours of violent rioting in the city center. A six-year-old girl, who suffered head injuries, has now been released from the hospital, while a five-year-old boy was discharged on Friday.

However, a five-year-old girl and the school care assistant, both in critical condition, remain hospitalized. Floral tributes have been placed near Gaelscoil Cholaiste Mhuire primary school to honor the victims of the incident.

Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made thus far in relation to the stabbing on Parnell Street. However, the authorities are actively seeking one suspect, described as a man in his 40s, who is currently in the hospital. Meanwhile, since Thursday, 48 arrests have been made in Dublin following the violent riots that erupted after the attack. The city experienced scenes of vehicle fires and looting during the disorder.

In an effort to identify those responsible for the violence, police are meticulously reviewing approximately 6,000 hours of CCTV footage documenting the riots. Irish Justice Minister Helen McEntee has highlighted the unprecedented deployment of riot police in response to the violence, assuring fellow ministers that additional arrests would be made by the Gardaí.

Despite the recent turmoil, Dublin city remained relatively calm on Saturday, as thousands flocked to the capital for Christmas shopping and sporting events. A peaceful protest centered on immigration issues took place on O'Connell Street, with a noticeable police presence throughout the city center.

Two significant sporting events, including a boxing match featuring Bray boxer Katie Taylor at the Three Arena, are scheduled to proceed as planned on Saturday night.

During a press briefing on Friday, Minister McEntee defended the Gardaí's response to the violence after Mary Lou McDonald, the leader of the opposition party Sinn Féin, expressed her lack of confidence in both McEntee and the head of the force, Drew Harris. Taoiseach Leo Varadkar expressed his confidence in McEntee, as did Tanaiste Micheál Martin, who also expressed support for Harris.

The rioting and looting that unfolded on Thursday night at Arnotts department store in Dublin left a horrifying scene, with citizens describing their embarrassment and condemnation of the violence. Despite the unsettling events, the majority of shoppers expressed their belief that the actions of the few should not tarnish the reputation of Ireland.

As the investigation continues and Dublin recovers from the aftermath of the stabbing incident, the focus remains on bringing those responsible to justice and restoring a sense of safety and peace to the city.
