In a shocking incident that unfolded on Tuesday morning, a 23-year-old man from Charlotte County, Florida, allegedly killed his mother after stabbing her in the neck. The tragic incident took place at their residence on Chelsea Court in Port Charlotte, prompting a swift response from the authorities.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office (CCSO), deputies were dispatched to the scene around 7:19 a.m. following a distress call reporting a physical altercation taking place inside the home. Upon arrival, they discovered a gruesome scene, with Jennifer Crumrine, the victim and mother of the accused, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck.

Jennifer's two daughters, who were also present in the house at the time of the incident, desperately struggled to wrestle the knife away from their brother, Connor Crumrine. Tragically, during the struggle, one of the sisters was also stabbed in the back and sustained minor cuts to her hands and arms.

Emergency Medical Services immediately provided life-saving measures to Jennifer, who was in critical condition. She was rushed to a local hospital, but despite the efforts of medical professionals, she succumbed to her injuries later on.

Connor was found in his bedroom, still in possession of the knife, allegedly on top of his sister. The CCSO reports that he disregarded commands from the officers, resulting in them using a taser to subdue him. After forcibly removing him from the bedroom, Connor was taken into custody at the scene.

Blood was found inside the home as well as on Connor's clothing, further evidence of the violent altercation that had taken place. The CCSO revealed that the family had planned to embark on a cruise on the same day, but Connor had been exhibiting concerning behavior the previous night, making statements about heaven and hell, attempting to teach his family members how to assume a fetal position and even engaging in finger gun gestures.

Fearful for their safety, the family had taken the precaution of locking their bedroom doors the night before the incident occurred. On the morning of the tragedy, Jennifer informed her daughter that she would not be going on the cruise and was planning to seek assistance for Connor at Charlotte Behavioral Health Care.

According to the CCSO report, Jennifer made her intentions known to Connor, who procrastinated in getting ready. It was during this time that the other sister, while on the phone, heard their mother's piercing screams of agony as she pleaded for help, stating that she was being stabbed.

Connor Crumrine has since been arrested and is currently being held at the Charlotte County Jail. He is facing charges of three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, as well as resisting an officer without violence.
