In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old California mother, Khadiyjah Aliyyah Ali Pendergraph, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her nine-year-old daughter. The young girl's lifeless body was discovered in their Orange County home on Friday, prompting a swift police response.

According to officials, the Westminster Police received a call from a concerned family member requesting a welfare check on Friday afternoon. Responding to the call, officers arrived at the residence located in the 14100 block of Goldenwest St. in Westminster. Faced with the urgency of the situation, the officers forcibly entered the home and were met with a heartbreaking scene - the lifeless body of the nine-year-old girl, displaying signs of trauma.

The mother, Khadiyjah Aliyyah Ali Pendergraph, was not present at the residence when the officers made the grim discovery. Authorities swiftly launched an effort to locate and apprehend her. Pendergraph was eventually traced to a shopping center in Aliso Viejo, where she was arrested in connection with her daughter's death.

The Westminster Chief of Police, Darin Lenyi, expressed profound sorrow over the circumstances surrounding the child's untimely demise. "While police officers are exposed to tragedies on a daily basis, this murder is particularly disturbing, due to the senseless loss of a child allegedly at the hands of her own mother," Chief Lenyi stated.

As the investigation into this chilling incident remains ongoing, the motives behind the alleged murder remain unclear. The Orange County Jail has taken custody of Khadiyjah Aliyyah Ali Pendergraph, who awaits further legal proceedings.

The local community is left in shock and mourning over the tragic loss of a young life. Authorities remain committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served in this heart-wrenching case.
