In a major boost to his presidential campaign, former Vice President Joe Biden received the endorsement of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union, while also taking the opportunity to criticize President Donald Trump's economic policies.

Speaking at a rally, Biden expressed gratitude for the UAW's support, stating, "We have more work to do but our plan is delivering to the American people, building an economy from the bottom up, not the top down." He emphasized the importance of a fair shot for all Americans and vowed to fight alongside the UAW to fundamentally change the country's economy.

Drawing a sharp contrast with President Trump, Biden stated, "He's the only president other than Herbert Hoover who lost jobs when he was president." He criticized Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy and large corporations, as well as his outsourcing of jobs overseas. Biden pointed out the devastating impact these policies had on communities, with factories closing and job opportunities dwindling.

The UAW president, Shawn Fain, officially announced the union's endorsement of Biden, stating, "Joe Biden bet on the American worker, while Donald Trump blamed the American worker! If our endorsements must be earned, Joe Biden has earned it!" Fain emphasized the need for a leader who would stand with the working class and help them win.

Biden, who remains optimistic about America's future, highlighted the need for fair job transitions and the protection of workers' rights to organize. He stressed that existing union workers should have the first opportunity to transition to new technology jobs and expressed his opposition to companies using threats or tactics to impede workers' rights.

The rally ended with the crowd chanting "UAW!" in support of the union and their shared goals. Biden concluded his speech by stating, "We build in America, we buy in America. Because of you, Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan... all gave their workers double-digit raises. Because of you!".

The union endorsement is expected to boost Biden's campaign ahead of the upcoming Nevada primary. With his focus on rebuilding the economy and supporting the working class, Biden seeks to rally support across the country and secure the Democratic nomination.
