Asheville, North Carolina - The Asheville Police Department (APD) is appealing to the public for assistance in an ongoing investigation into an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station on Patton Avenue. The incident took place on November 6, at approximately 7:30 a.m.
According to a press release issued by the APD on Monday, November 13, officers were dispatched to the 640 block of Patton Avenue after receiving a report of an armed robbery. The victim recounted to law enforcement that as he was attempting to enter his vehicle after refueling, an unknown individual approached his car door. The suspect allegedly prevented the victim from closing the door, brandishing a large knife against his neck, and demanding his wallet.
The victim complied with the suspect's demands, surrendering his wallet before the assailant fled the scene on foot. The suspect was last seen heading towards Jackson's curve. Despite an extensive search conducted by patrol officers, authorities were unable to locate the perpetrator.
Law enforcement officials describe the suspect as a tall and slender Black male, adorned in a black jacket and khaki pants. The Criminal Investigations Division has taken charge of the case and is actively investigating all leads related to the robbery.
