An arrest has been made in the tragic murder of 15-year-old Michael Garr, who was fatally stabbed in Delaware County. Marson Weh, a 24-year-old suspect, was apprehended and charged with criminal homicide, murder, and possession of an instrument of crime, according to District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and Upper Darby Police Superintendent Tim Bernhardt. The arrest comes following an intensive investigation into the incident that occurred on April 21, 2023, in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.

Garr, a student at Upper Darby High School, was discovered with a stab wound to the chest along the 200 block of Bridge Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. Local residents and emergency medical personnel attempted to resuscitate him, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially sought information from the public when they posted a photo of a couple seen walking hand-in-hand on Bridge Street on the night of Garr's death. Although the couple was located and interviewed, they were unable to provide any leads in the murder investigation.

Authorities diligently reviewed extensive surveillance footage, eventually identifying a man seen on video fleeing the scene of the crime. Investigators later identified this individual as Marson Weh, who was already wanted in Ohio for unrelated assault and vehicle theft charges.

Undercover officers focused their efforts in Clifton Heights, where they observed Weh leaving a residence on the 100 block of Willowbrook Avenue. He was apprehended and subsequently refused to cooperate with police. Weh was extradited to Ohio, where he pleaded guilty to the prior assault and stolen vehicle charges, resulting in a prison sentence of 9 ½ years. Once he has served his sentence in Ohio, Weh will be extradited back to Upper Darby to face charges related to Garr's murder.

Further evidence linking Weh to Garr's murder was discovered during a search of the Clifton Heights home he was seen leaving. Police submitted the evidence to a Philadelphia Police crime lab, revealing connections between Weh and not only Garr's death but also an unrelated attack on a pregnant woman in Upper Darby on February 7, 2023. The stolen vehicle used in the February incident was recovered near Weh's location at the time.

Although a motive for Garr's murder has not yet been established, investigators continue to work diligently to uncover further details surrounding the tragic event.

Following the devastating loss of Michael Garr Jr., family, friends, and community members gathered in Drexel Hill to pay their respects, creating a heartfelt memorial in his honor. The Upper Darby School District expressed their condolences, describing Garr as a student of Upper Darby High School.

The Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27 announced a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest in Garr's case. Joseph Fitzgerald, president of the FOP lodge, called the murder a "senseless act of violence" and urged the public to come forward with any relevant information.

In addition to the arrest made in connection to Garr's murder, District Attorney Stollsteimer and Superintendent Bernhardt also announced an arrest in the unrelated October murder of Mohammad Rahman outside a mosque in Upper Darby.
