The endorsement is scheduled to take place on Wednesday near Miami, where Trump will be hosting a counterprogramming event in lieu of participating in the NBC News-hosted debate.

Sanders, 41, has quickly risen as a prominent figure within the Republican Party since being elected governor in 2022. She holds the distinction of being the first woman to serve as governor of Arkansas as well as the youngest governor in the entire country. Her father, who previously held the same position, served from 1996 to 2007.

By pledging her support to Trump, Sanders is going against the stance of her predecessor, Asa Hutchinson, who has been critical of the former president and is currently trailing behind other major GOP presidential candidates. Sanders previously served as Trump's White House press secretary from 2017 to 2019, gaining experience and recognition in the political landscape.

While the Trump campaign declined to comment on the endorsement, sources say that there was frustration within Trump's inner circle, particularly at his Mar-a-Lago resort, for Sanders' delayed endorsement. A Trumpworld adviser expressed concerns about President Trump possibly viewing Sanders differently moving forward.

This high-profile gubernatorial endorsement follows on the heels of Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds' recent endorsement of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, as reported by NBC News just days ago. With prominent Republican figures announcing their support for different candidates, the presidential race continues to intensify.

The rally in Florida holds significant weight for Trump's campaign, as it not only serves as an opportunity for Sanders to pledge her support but also provides a platform for him to connect with his base. As the race unfolds, political enthusiasts eagerly await the outcome of these endorsements and their potential impact on the presidential race.
