According to the State of Global Hiring Report from Deel, an HR platform specializing in global hiring, the number of American workers hired by international companies experienced a significant growth of 62% last year. The majority of these roles offer remote work opportunities, with workers in certain U.S. cities being more likely to take advantage of this arrangement.

The report highlights that San Francisco is the top city where Americans who work remotely for international employers tend to reside. This can be attributed to the city's abundance of highly skilled professionals, particularly in research, sales, software engineering, content, and product development. Additionally, individuals in the Bay Area may possess valuable experience from working in prominent tech enterprises and startups, making them desirable to international companies seeking top talent.

Deel CEO, Alex Bouaziz, explains that major U.S. cities such as New York, Chicago, Austin, Miami, Portland, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle, and Dallas serve as a "playground" for international companies to recruit knowledgeable workers with unique skills. These cities boast competitive job markets and higher percentages of individuals who regularly work remotely.

Overall, companies headquartered in the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Singapore, and Australia are most likely to hire American workers. Bouaziz emphasizes that these companies are actively seeking the best talent globally, regardless of location. The hiring decisions of international leaders may also stem from skill shortages in their home countries.

A recent report from global hiring firm G-P supports this trend, indicating that 77% of executives worldwide face challenges in identifying skilled talent in their current markets. This concern is particularly prevalent in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and France. The report further reveals that 95% of workers worldwide believe global companies outperform their peers, and 79% express a desire to work for a global enterprise.

The growth of remote work has opened up opportunities for individuals to work for international organizations and even consider relocation for the right job. As the demand for skilled talent persists, workers may be more willing to explore opportunities abroad. The allure of global enterprises and the perception of better career prospects continue to attract professionals worldwide.

In conclusion, American workers are increasingly sought after by international companies, with San Francisco serving as a hotspot for talent in remote positions. The competitive job markets and a high proportion of remote workers in major U.S. cities make it an attractive playground for international companies to recruit highly skilled individuals. As remote work continues to spread, professionals may find themselves more inclined to work for overseas organizations or even relocate for promising opportunities, further fueling the demand for global talent.
