Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has announced a significant surge in vehicle deliveries, achieving a noteworthy 293 percent year-on-year increase from January to May 2023. During this period, the company delivered a total of 162,578 vehicles, underscoring strong demand for their innovative electric models.

In May alone, Xpeng delivered 33,525 vehicles, marking a remarkable 230.43 percent increase compared to the same month last year, where they delivered 10,146 vehicles. Despite a slight dip of 4.34 percent from April's 35,045 deliveries, this marks the seventh consecutive month where Xpeng's deliveries have exceeded the 30,000 mark. According to data compiled by CnEVPost, these figures bring Xpeng's cumulative deliveries to an impressive total of 752,957 vehicles since the company's inception.

Particular highlights include the robust sales performance of the Xpeng X9 MPV. In May, 3,227 units of the X9 were sold, reflecting a 99 percent increase year-on-year and a 35 percent increase from the previous month. Launched on April 15, the 2025 X9 is priced starting at RMB 359,800 ($49,970) and is expected to reach the European market in late 2025, as stated by He Xiaopeng, the company's chairman and CEO.

Additionally, the Mona M03 electric sedan, unveiled on May 28, has drawn significant attention with its new Max and Plus variants. Notably, the Mona M03 Max offers advanced AI-assisted driving features similar to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) but at a much lower price point, starting at RMB 129,800 ($18,040) and RMB 139,800, respectively. The Max variant boasts a driving range of up to 600 km under China's CLTC standards and incorporates the Turing smart driving system, a sophisticated ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). This launch has already garnered strong interest, with 12,566 firm orders placed within the first hour.

Looking ahead, Xpeng is set to launch the G7 SUV in June, which is expected to be highly competitive in the RMB 250,000 price range. Furthermore, plans are underway to release the new P7 electric sedan in the July-August timeframe, targeting the RMB 300,000 market segment. Xpeng's current vehicle lineup includes the Mona M03, P7+ sedan, P7i sedan, X9 MPV, G6 SUV, and G9 SUV, showcasing their commitment to expanding their market presence and catering to diverse consumer preferences.
