One passenger and five flight attendants were injured when American Airlines Flight 271, an Airbus A320, made a hard landing at Kahului Airport in Maui, Hawaii on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred during the flight's arrival from Los Angeles (LAX) to Maui (OGG).
According to a statement from American Airlines to CNN, the aircraft experienced an issue upon landing at Kahului Airport. However, it managed to taxi to the gate under its own power, and all passengers were able to deplane normally. There were a total of 167 customers and seven crew members on board the aircraft.
Following the hard landing, the six injured individuals were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Fortunately, they were later released, indicating that their injuries were not severe. American Airlines mentioned that the plane has been taken out of service to undergo inspection by their maintenance team.
