The Hamilton County Coroner's Office has identified the man involved in a tragic incident on Interstate 75 as Tommy Ashley, aged 34. Ashley met a fatal end while attempting to elude the police after allegedly abducting a woman.

The series of events began when Cincinnati police received a distressing 911 call from an individual in Arizona, reporting that their friend was trapped in a moving vehicle. According to the concerned caller, Ashley, who had been displaying signs of paranoia and erratic behavior, was refusing to stop the car and was keeping the victim inside against her will.

The quick-thinking caller accessed the victim's Apple location system and relayed the information to the police. However, Ashley managed to elude the authorities multiple times, prolonging the dangerous situation.

Finally, the chase came to an abrupt halt at the intersection of Freeman Avenue and the entrance of I-75 in Queensgate. Ashley immediately fled on foot, leaving officers waiting for a K9 unit to arrive. During this time, officers were able to communicate with the victim, who remained in the car, sharing crucial details of the situation.

As officers awaited the canine unit's arrival, Ashley made a fateful decision. He defiantly entered the expressway, heading northbound on I-75. Tragically, Ashley was struck by a vehicle or vehicles, resulting in fatal injuries.

Cincinnati police Chief Terri Theetge confirmed that Ashley's actions would be regarded as an abduction case. The victim, whose identity authorities have chosen not to release, remained unharmed throughout the ordeal.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the risks individuals face when engaging in high-speed pursuits and dangerous acts while on the road. The Cincinnati police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction and subsequent fatal accident on I-75.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information related to the case to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
