HOUSTON, Texas - The parents of a 17-year-old girl, Louise Wilson, who was tragically killed in a road rage incident, met with Houston Police Department (HPD) officials on Wednesday as the search for the perpetrator continues.
Louise Wilson succumbed to her injuries on Sunday at approximately 1:05 a.m. While traveling on the Pierce Elevated, she swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle that abruptly braked. Unfortunately, this triggered the assailant to open fire, resulting in Louise's untimely death.
On Wednesday, Louise's parents, Daniel and Krista Wilson, had a meeting with HPD Chief Troy Finner to discuss the ongoing investigation and to express their sorrow over the loss of their daughter. According to family members, Louise was traveling to Galveston with her friends and boyfriend to witness the sunrise at the beach.
Investigating officers have identified the victim as 17-year-old Louise Wilson, who hailed from the town of Whitney in Texas, near Waco. The teenager's family described her as intelligent, compassionate, and deeply cherished. Louise aspired to pursue a career in law enforcement, specifically working with K-9 units due to her love for animals.
During the press conference, Louise's father emotionally pleaded, "So just think about that of what - of you took from this world and what she could have done. Lay that on your conscience, whoever did this, and just know she took an angel."
Louise's uncle, Leo Wilson, also expressed his disbelief over the tragic incident and implored anyone with information to come forward. "If you saw what happened, come forward. Have some courage. People just need courage to stand up and do what's right," he urged.
HPD, having only released a vague description of the suspect on Tuesday, has described the shooter as a Black man driving a black or dark-colored four-door sedan.
The investigation into the road rage incident that claimed Louise Wilson's life is ongoing, with law enforcement authorities urging anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department. As the community mourns the loss of a promising young life, they hope that justice will be served and the responsible individual will be apprehended.
