In a recent Instagram video, actor Forrie J. Smith, known for his role as Lloyd Pierce in the popular series Yellowstone, alleged that he was removed from a flight after refusing to be seated next to a passenger wearing a face mask. The incident occurred at a Houston, Texas airport, as Smith shared his frustrations with his half-a-million followers.
In the Instagram video, Smith expressed his discomfort about sitting next to someone wearing a mask, stating, "I just told them I didn't feel comfortable sitting next to somebody that had to wear a mask, and I'm off the plane." It remains unclear which airline Smith was traveling on and why he was specifically removed from the flight.
Smith revealed that he had been waiting at the airport for three hours, leading him to have a few drinks. However, he clarified that he was not intoxicated, and attributed his removal from the plane to his refusal to sit next to a masked passenger. In the video, he expressed disappointment in the lack of support from fellow passengers, urging them to stand up against what he called "bulls--t."
Representatives for Smith have not yet responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
This is not the first time Smith has encountered issues related to COVID-19 protocols. Earlier in 2022, he was unable to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards due to strict requirements, which included being fully vaccinated, having a booster shot, providing a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours, and wearing a mask. In a since-deleted video, Smith apologized to his Instagram followers, explaining that he was not vaccinated and did not believe in it.
Smith stated that he had chosen not to receive vaccinations since he was a child, and compared it to his approach with his dogs and horses, stating that he does not vaccinate them either. He expressed concerns about the potential impact on his immune system, and firmly stated that he would not be getting vaccinated.
It remains to be seen how Smith's recent statements and actions will impact his career and public perception. As debates surrounding COVID-19 and vaccinations continue, the actor's stance may draw both support and criticism from various quarters.
