In a shocking and disturbing incident, a 52-year-old woman from Spain was killed in her deceased mother's New York City apartment. The police are currently on the lookout for two squatters who are believed to be responsible for the murder, according to sources.

Nadia Vitel had come to the United States to prepare her mother's Manhattan apartment for a family friend. The Kips Bay apartment had been unoccupied for several months following the passing of Vitel's mother.

Upon entering the apartment, Vitel discovered a man and a woman living there. An altercation broke out between them, resulting in Vitel being forcefully thrown into a sheetrock wall, sources revealed. Struggling with injuries, Vitel tragically succumbed to blunt force trauma to the head, which the authorities have ruled as a homicide.

The alarming discovery of Vitel's body was made on March 14, when her concerned son, who had not heard from her in two days, accessed the Kips Bay apartment in the company of the superintendent and other relatives. Her lifeless body was found inside a duffel bag that was kept in a closet, with one foot protruding from the bag, the sources added.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are focusing their efforts on locating the two squatters who were living in the apartment illegally. Their identities and descriptions have not been released to the public at this time. The police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in apprehending the suspects.

The tragic death of Nadia Vitel serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in seemingly safe environments. As the investigation develops, the authorities are determined to bring justice to the victim and her grieving family, who now face the unimaginable loss of their loved one.

Anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or provide an anonymous tip through the appropriate channels.
