A significant snowstorm traversed the Northeast on Thursday, leading to dangerous conditions for Thanksgiving travelers. Northeastern Pennsylvania was among the first hit, with areas north of Interstate 80 experiencing up to four inches of snow by afternoon.

The storm's impact was particularly severe in northern New England, with forecasts predicting over a foot of snow in regions such as inland Maine and northern New Hampshire, according to the National Weather Service. Meteorologist Scott Kleebauer noted that while the storm was advancing at a relatively fast pace, which may help mitigate some of the snowfall, the overall conditions remained perilous.

In the Mid-Atlantic, snowfall was expected to reach up to six inches, further complicating travel plans for the holiday season. Along the Great Lakes, several feet of lake-effect snow were anticipated over the weekend, adding to the travel disruptions.
