**Hurricane Helene's Remnants Cause Widespread Disruption to School Football Schedules**

The remnants of Hurricane Helene have wrought significant disruptions across the region, leading to the alteration or rescheduling of numerous Friday night football games. The weather circumstances have compelled schools to adjust their schedules accordingly.

The highly-anticipated football clash between Cooper and Highlands, the two leading teams in northern Kentucky, has been canceled due to the inclement weather. The rescheduled date for this game has yet to be determined.

The Clermont Northeastern Varsity Football Game against Blanchester, initially set for Friday night, has been postponed and will now be played on Saturday at 10 a.m. at CNE High School. Furthermore, the school has called off its homecoming parade, attributed to the adverse weather.

In another example, the match between Walton Verona and Bracken County has also been postponed to Saturday. All games and practices at Walton Verona are canceled, although the Varsity Girls soccer will proceed on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the complex, followed by a varsity football game at 3 p.m.

Other affected games include Simon-Kenton vs. Paul Laurence Dunbar, which has been postponed with no new date announced, and the Carroll County vs. Owen County football game, now rescheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. The homecoming festivities at Carroll County will proceed with the crowning of the King and Queen at halftime and the dance delayed until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Several other school matches have seen schedule changes: Gallatin County at Beachwood is now set for Saturday at 10 a.m.; Scott at Conner for Saturday at 12 p.m.; Cooper at Highlands at 10 a.m. on Saturday; and Dixie Heights at Boone County at 12 p.m. on Saturday.

The tri-state area has been placed under a High Wind Warning from noon to 10 p.m. on Friday. Cincinnati has already started experiencing the rain from Helene, with sustained winds projected to range from 20 to 30 mph and gusts between 40 and 60 mph, especially peaking between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. This weather is likely to result in travel disruptions and potential power outages. The rain is expected to continue until sunset on Friday, transitioning into a lighter rain overnight through Saturday. By the end of the weekend, the area is anticipated to have accumulated 2 to 3 inches of rain in total.
