### White Sox Chairman Reinsdorf Addresses Fans After Historic Loss

The Chicago White Sox concluded their most dismal season in recent memory, ending it with a rare victory against the Detroit Tigers, securing a 9-5 win on Sunday. This final game marked only their second series win on the road and their fifth win in the last six games of the season.

As the team played the second inning and much of Chicago was tuned into a Bears game at Soldier Field, White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf released a candid letter to fans. He expressed gratitude for their support during what he described as an "embarrassing season." The White Sox wrapped up their year with a shocking 41-121 record.

Reinsdorf, taking full accountability, acknowledged the fans' understandable frustration. "By all measures, our on-field performance this season was a failure. As the leader of this organization, that is my ultimate responsibility. There are no excuses," he stated.

Following a devastating stretch that included a 15th consecutive loss to the Guardians on September 11, Reinsdorf had earlier communicated his dissatisfaction and hinted at further comments post-season. Through his second statement, he emphasized the severity of the past season's failures, recognizing the fans' reactions, which included public displays of discontent at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The season saw the team endure multiple long losing streaks, with the management responding by firing manager Pedro Grifol on August 8 and appointing Grady Sizemore as interim manager. Now, finding a permanent manager is the organization's top priority, with general manager Chris Getz leading an extensive search for a candidate embodying the desired leadership qualities.

Reinsdorf highlighted the procedural changes led by Getz, covering player development, scouting, and market evaluations, all aimed at competition readiness. Despite recent struggles, Reinsdorf pointed to the team's promising prospect rankings and successes at the minor league level, like the Double-A Birmingham Barons' championship and the Low-A Kannapolis reaching their league finals.

Acknowledging that actions speak louder than words, Reinsdorf assured fans that the organization is committed to earning back their trust and support by delivering better results in the future. He reiterated his own passion for the team and the sport, underlining the shared suffering of every loss and the dedication to improve moving forward.
