New York City and its neighboring regions are eagerly awaiting the 4th of July fireworks to illuminate the skies, but the weather forecast has sparked uncertainties. According to meteorologist Mike Woods from FOX 5 NY, scattered showers and storms are expected later in the afternoon, with a high temperature of 87°F and high humidity.

The National Weather Service has projected a 30% to 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms after 5 p.m., escalating into the evening hours. The greatest risk is predicted between 6 and 9 p.m., encompassing the entire Tri-State area and coastal regions, warns Woods.

As the clock ticks closer to 8 p.m., when the Macy's Fireworks show is set to commence, the chance of precipitation stands at 16%. The forecast for the evening includes the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, alongside partly sunny conditions and a high temperature near 83°F. Winds may also gust as high as 21 mph.

After 2 a.m., it is likely that showers, thunderstorms, and potentially heavier rainfall will persist, with mostly cloudy skies and a low temperature around 75°F. The chance of precipitation during this period rises to 70%.

The following day, showers are expected before 8 a.m., with a chance of thunderstorms persisting afterwards, leading to mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature near 81°F. The likelihood of precipitation is estimated at 60%.

In the evening, the chance of showers and thunderstorms are present until 11 p.m., followed by a possibility of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy conditions with a low temperature of 75°F are expected, accompanied by a 40% chance of precipitation.

On the brighter side of the weather forecast, Sunday is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high near 84°F, offering some reprieve from the rain. The night is anticipated to be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 73°F.

With concerns surrounding the weather, residents and visitors in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Long Island are uncertain about the conditions for the much-anticipated 4th of July fireworks. The Macy's Fireworks Spectacular, which has not been accessible to New Jersey residents for over a decade, will now allow them a front-row seat to the stunning display.

For those interested in attending the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks or searching for local fireworks shows in the NYC area, detailed information can be found by visiting the official Macy's website. As the day approaches, individuals are advised to stay tuned for any updates on the weather conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.
