The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has recently announced a voluntary recall of all canned coffee products made by Snapchill LLC, alerting consumers to check their pantries and refrigerators. This recall has been initiated as there are concerns that the company's manufacturing process may not effectively prevent the growth and production of botulism, a potentially lethal toxin.

The reason for this voluntary recall is that Snapchill LLC failed to file their canning process with the FDA, as required by regulations. Upon discovering this, the FDA promptly contacted the company to address the issue. It is important to note that no cases of illness related to the consumption of these coffee products have been reported thus far.

Botulism is a serious illness that can lead to severe health consequences or even death. Symptoms may manifest within six hours to two weeks after consuming contaminated food. Common signs of botulism include general weakness, dizziness, blurred or double vision, difficulty speaking or swallowing, respiratory difficulties, muscle weakness, bloating, and constipation. Anyone experiencing such symptoms should seek immediate medical attention.

Snapchill coffee cans, ranging in sizes from 7 oz. to 12 oz., have been distributed nationwide. This recall affects various coffee brands produced and distributed by Snapchill, including Cape Cod Coffee, Coffee Hound, Knowledge Perk, and Vivid (full list provided below).

If you possess any of the affected coffee products, it is highly recommended that you dispose of them or return them to Snapchill or the place of purchase for a full refund. To request a refund, you can also email photos of the product and proof of purchase, such as a copy of the receipt, to compliance@Snapchill.com. For any inquiries or further assistance, you can contact Snapchill directly via email or by calling (920) 632-6018 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 p.m. Central Time.

As a precautionary step, the FDA urges consumers to be mindful of the coffee brands and flavors affected by this recall. Look for "Produced and distributed by Snapchill LCC" underneath the nutrition facts label, and some products may also have "Snapchill Coffee" on the label.

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of consumers is of utmost importance, and Snapchill LLC is cooperating fully with the FDA in addressing this matter. By complying with the recall and returning or disposing of the affected products, consumers can avoid any potential health risks associated with botulism.
