### Dalvin Cook Set to Make Cowboys Debut Against 49ers

The Dallas Cowboys have made a strategic move by adding veteran running back Dalvin Cook to their active roster for Sunday night's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Cook, who was elevated from the practice squad, brings experience and skill to the team, though he's not expected to fill the shoes of a player like Derrick Henry.

In tandem with this roster change, the Cowboys have also placed tight end John Stephens on injured reserve and officially signed cornerback Amani Oruwariye to their 53-man roster. Cook, known for his impressive tenure with the Minnesota Vikings, was a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He stands out not only for his youth—being more than a year and a half younger than Henry—but also for his talent, having made the Pro Bowl four times consecutively from 2019 through 2022.

Cook achieved a career milestone in 2020, amassing 1,557 rushing yards and scoring 17 touchdowns. Unfortunately, after the 2021 season, he was cut by the Vikings. His subsequent signing with the Jets saw limited playing time, and he was released toward the end of the season. A brief stint with the Ravens followed, where he played only in their playoff win over the Texans.

Currently, the Cowboys are aiming to revitalize their season, standing at a balanced 3-3. Their upcoming game against the 49ers offers an opportunity for redemption. Rico Dowdle is currently leading the team's rushing efforts with 246 yards, while Ezekiel Elliott has accumulated 115 yards, averaging just three yards per carry. Cook's addition could be the pivotal change needed to improve their standings as the season progresses.
