**U.S. Men's National Team Expands Staff Ahead of Paris Olympics 2024**
U.S. Soccer has bolstered the U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) technical and high-performance staff with five new additions, coinciding with Mauricio Pochettino’s debut training camp as the head coach. Pochettino, known for his successful stints at top European clubs, brings a wealth of experience to the USMNT ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024.
Joining Pochettino in this new venture are key figures who have worked closely with him over the years. Jesus Perez, who began his collaboration with Pochettino at Espanyol, will serve as the first assistant coach. Perez has been a constant presence alongside Pochettino, contributing to his successes at Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea.
Miguel "Miki" D'Agostino will also take on the role of assistant coach. D'Agostino's partnership with Pochettino traces back to their playing days at Newell's Old Boys in Argentina. His coaching career includes stints in France and the United Arab Emirates before reuniting with Pochettino at Espanyol.
Filling the position of goalkeepers coach is Antonio "Toni" Jimenez. A former professional goalkeeper with over 350 appearances in Spain and a gold medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Jimenez has been a part of Pochettino’s coaching team since their days at Espanyol.
Sebastiano Pochettino will contribute as a sport scientist. With experience from Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea, he is regarded as one of the Premier League’s youngest sport scientists. His expertise will be invaluable in preparing the team for the high demands of the Olympics.
Silvia Tuya Viñas completes the new lineup as the strength and conditioning coach. Holding a PhD in sport science, she most recently worked with FC Levante Badalona and has also served as a lecturer at the University of Barcelona.
As these new appointments take effect, U.S. Soccer has announced the departure of Vincent Cavin. The organization extended its gratitude to Cavin for his commitment and contributions to the Men's National Team over the past year.
