In a daring attack carried out by Ukrainian FPV drone operators on February 25, 2024, footage has emerged showing the destruction of valuable Russian armor, including a rare 'Terminator' tank. The assault targeted a warehouse in the south of Ukraine, where the attackers successfully destroyed significant Russian military assets, such as two T-72 tanks, an infantry fighting vehicle, and several military trucks.
The focal point of the attack was the coveted Russian BMPT "Terminator" tank, known for its formidable capabilities on the battlefield. With only 10 of these 53-ton, 23-foot-long armored vehicles believed to be in the Russian army's inventory at the start of the invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, its destruction marks a significant loss for the Russian forces.
The attack was carried out by the Wild Hornets, a volunteer group specialized in manufacturing FPV kamikaze strike drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Since their project's inception, they have supplied the Ukrainian military with 3500 drones, including Kamikaze, Bomber, and Scout variants, aiding in Ukraine's defense efforts.
The video footage, though unverified by Insider, showcases the precision of the Ukrainian drones as they navigated through the bountiful warehouse of Russian weaponry, ultimately obliterating the prized Terminator tank and other valuable assets within. This attack adds to the mounting losses suffered by the Russian military in their invasion of Ukraine, as reported by the UK Defense Ministry in January, which stated the destruction of 2,600 main battle tanks and 4,900 other armored vehicles.
The daring strike by the Ukrainian drones exemplifies the ongoing efforts of Ukraine to defend its sovereignty against the Russian aggression, underscoring the crucial role of modern technology and strategic tactics in this conflict.
