Prosecutors announced on Tuesday that two men have been charged with murder in the deadly shooting that occurred at last week's Kansas City Chiefs parade celebration. The shooting near Union Station resulted in the death of a woman, identified as Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a 43-year-old mother of two and local radio DJ. Additionally, 22 people were wounded during the incident.
According to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, the suspects involved in the shooting, Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller, got into an argument during the rally which escalated, leading to the use of firearms. Authorities believe that Miller's gun was the one responsible for the fatal victim's death.
Both Mays and Miller have been charged with second-degree murder and are currently being held on a $1 million bond. Despite the charges, the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. Prosecutor Baker emphasized the importance of holding every shooter accountable for their actions during the tragic event, stating, "We seek to hold every shooter accountable for their actions on that day - every single one." She also reassured the public that efforts are being made to ensure justice for all individuals involved in the incident.
