Two adults have been arrested in connection with the mass shooting that took place at the Chiefs' Super Bowl parade last week in Kansas City. According to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, the suspects, Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays, are facing charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. The shooting resulted in the tragic death of paradegoer Lisa Lopez-Galvan and left 22 others injured.

Baker stated that the incident unfolded when Mays became engaged in a verbal argument with an individual he had no prior history with, which quickly escalated. Mays allegedly brandished his handgun, prompting others, including Miller, to also draw firearms. Both Miller and Mays sustained injuries in the shooting and are currently hospitalized under police custody.

Additionally, two juvenile suspects were taken into custody last week on gun-related charges and resisting arrest. Baker emphasized the importance of holding every individual involved in the shooting accountable for their actions. In remembrance of Lopez-Galvan, a radio DJ who lost her life in the tragedy, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Saturday.
