The contract details of Travis Kelce's revised deal with the Kansas City Chiefs have been unveiled, shedding light on the financial intricacies of the agreement. According to reports obtained from OverTheCap, the superstar tight end's contract adjustments have provided some interesting insights.

Originally set to earn a $12 million salary in 2024, Kelce's base salary has now been reduced to $5.75 million in the revised deal. Furthermore, the per-game roster bonus he was entitled to has been replaced with a single $11 million roster bonus. To complement these changes, Kelce will also receive a $250,000 workout bonus for the 2024 season, bringing his total compensation for the year to $17 million. Notably, this amount is fully guaranteed.

As a result of these modifications, Kelce sees a significant raise of $4.1 million for the upcoming season, increasing his 2024 cap hit to $19.6 million. In comparison, his original cap hit for the year was $15.5 million.

Looking ahead to 2025, Kelce's contract adjustments continue to offer intrigue. His base salary has been reduced from $16.25 million to $4.5 million, alongside the elimination of a per-game roster bonus of $750,000. However, his $250,000 workout bonus remains intact. These revisions amount to the same total earnings for 2025 - $17.25 million.

It is important to note that none of Kelce's 2025 compensation is currently guaranteed. However, it has been reported that "most" of the $17.25 million he is set to earn next season will become guaranteed in March, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer. While OverTheCap does not confirm this specific detail, it implies that Kelce's $12.5 million roster bonus could be the guaranteed portion.

In terms of the contract's implications, should Kelce retire or the Chiefs choose to part ways with him before the start of the 2025 league year, Kansas City would only be responsible for the final $2.6 million proration from previous signing bonuses. However, if Kelce remains with the team for the 2025 season, he will be guaranteed at least $12.5 million. Furthermore, beyond 2025, both parties will be free from any contractual obligations, and the team will not have any dead money resulting from Kelce's deal in 2026.

With these contract adjustments in mind, the Kansas City Chiefs currently estimate having $15.2 million in salary cap space, including all known transactions and 81 players under contract.

Kelce's revised contract showcases the team's commitment to retaining their exceptional tight end while also providing potential flexibility for the future. As the Chiefs prepare for the upcoming season, Kelce's presence on the field and his impact on the team will undoubtedly continue to be major factors to watch.
