### Train Operator Killed, Multiple Injuries in New Jersey Transit Crash

A tragic accident occurred early Monday morning when a New Jersey Transit commuter train struck a substantial piece of a tree lying on the tracks. The collision resulted in the death of the train operator and left nearly two dozen passengers injured.

The incident happened just past 6 a.m. north of Roebling Station in Mansfield Township. At the time of the crash, the River Line train was carrying 42 passengers. Television footage revealed that a sizable portion of the tree had lodged itself under the front section of the train.

New Jersey Transit has confirmed that 23 passengers sustained minor injuries and received medical attention. Investigators are diligently working to uncover how the tree came to be on the tracks in the first place.

Following the incident, River Line services were suspended between Roebling and Trenton train stations. Several nearby roads, including segments of U.S. Highway 130, were also closed as authorities conducted their investigation.

This devastating event has left the community in shock as authorities continue to piece together the circumstances that led to this unfortunate accident.
