**Supermodel Georgina Cooper Dies at 46 During Vacation in Kos**

Renowned British supermodel Georgina Cooper has passed away at the age of 46 while on vacation with her new husband, Nigel, on the Greek island of Kos. This tragic event unfolded after Georgina fell seriously ill and had to be airlifted to a specialized medical facility in Crete. Despite receiving intensive care for five days, she unfortunately did not recover. Her body was returned to the UK last week.

Georgina Cooper, a mother of one, was remembered as a "ray of light" by her modeling peers. Tributes from the fashion world flowed in, with prominent figures such as Helena Christensen, Jade Parfitt, Erin O'Connor, and Jodie Kidd expressing their grief and admiration. Georgina's career began at the tender age of 13 when she was discovered by a talent scout. She quickly rose to prominence, becoming one of the defining faces of the 1990s fashion scene and earning the nickname “London's original gap-toothed girl.”

Georgina's former agent, Dean Goodman, revealed that she had been dealing with health issues exacerbated by COVID-19 and had been in and out of hospitals. Nonetheless, she was optimistic about her future, having recently married and looking forward to her new life. "Everybody is devastated. She was a genuine superstar," Goodman told the DailyMail.

The cause of Georgina's sudden illness remains unknown, and details about her sickness have not been disclosed. After her marriage, the couple shared their joyous moments on social media, only for the honeymoon to end in tragedy when Georgina fell ill upon their return to Kos in late October.

Throughout her illustrious career, Georgina worked with esteemed publications and photographers, including Corinne Day. She graced the covers of top fashion magazines such as US Vogue and The Face and appeared in a Bon Jovi music video at just 15 years old.

In a 2018 interview with UK fashion magazine The Cultural Omnivore, Georgina reflected on her decision to retire from modeling to devote more time to her son, a decision that underscored her love for her family. Her passing is mourned by fans and the broader fashion community, both of whom remember her as a beloved icon and a radiant presence in the industry.
