### Tragic Plane Crash in Broomfield Leaves Two Dead
BROOMFIELD, Colo. (KKTV) - In a devastating incident on Saturday, a Beechcraft 95 aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, leaving no survivors. The North Metro Fire Rescue District confirmed that both individuals on board perished in the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has initiated an investigation into the accident, in collaboration with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which is the primary agency handling the case. Preliminary reports from the FAA revealed that the pilot was attempting to land the aircraft at around 10:05 a.m. local time on May 17 when the tragedy occurred.
Airport officials reported that the twin-engine Beechcraft had departed just after 10 a.m. The pilot had contacted the Air Traffic Control Tower to report a problem with one of the plane's doors being open. Unfortunately, while attempting to return to the airport, the plane crashed near the intersection of Brainard and Midway, close to the Flatiron Crossing exit.
Upon impact, the aircraft ignited, but the resulting fire was quickly put out by the North Metro Fire Department. The Boulder Police Department has since secured the crash site, and the public is being asked to stay away from the area as the investigation continues.
Authorities are urging residents to avoid the vicinity to allow for a thorough and unobstructed investigation. More information will be provided by the NTSB as it becomes available.
