TLC Forced to Cancel Shows as T-Boz Hospitalized for Abdominal Blockage

Iconic girl group TLC has been forced to cancel their upcoming performances at the New York State Fair and Connecticut's Foxwoods Resort after T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, was hospitalized for a severe abdominal blockage.

The cancellation of their Aug. 23 show at the New York State Fair happened just 30 minutes before showtime, as T-Boz experienced sudden and severe symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps. It was later confirmed by a doctor that the cause was an abdominal blockage, ruling out food poisoning.

In a statement posted on TLC's official Instagram page, it was explained that T-Boz will remain in the hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of the condition. The press release also confirmed the cancellation of their Aug. 24 performance at the Foxwoods Resort.

Despite the setback, TLC is committed to rescheduling the concerts and T-Boz herself expressed her optimism for a quick recovery. Sharing the statement on her own Instagram page, she wrote, "I'm on the mend!!! This was just one of those unexpected things that I had no control over! I look forward to making it up 2 you all... and hopefully I'll get out of the hospital soon!!! As soon as tomorrow if all goes well!"

This is not the first time TLC has faced health issues impacting their performances. Earlier this year, they were forced to reschedule four Canadian tour dates after T-Boz and other tour members caught the flu.

The cancellation of the Friday show at the New York State Fair, which was set to begin at 8:00 p.m., disappointed fans who were photographed leaving the venue. The group had previously drawn a crowd of 30,000 people at the fair in 2022.

Representatives for TLC have not yet provided further updates or comments regarding the situation. However, their statement emphasized the group's sincere apologies to the fans and event organizers, assuring them that they are determined to make it up to their supporters in the near future.
