In a recent development, the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office has announced that a third adult has been charged in connection with the tragic death of a woman during the mass shooting that occurred outside Union Station following the Chiefs rally. Identified as 20-year-old Terry Young from Kansas City, Missouri, he faces charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action.

According to the prosecutor's office, the probable cause document reveals that Young was part of a group of individuals involved in an argument in the vicinity of West Pershing Road and Kessler Road. Allegedly, Young brandished a firearm, pointed it at someone, and proceeded to advance towards them. A bystander stepped in between Young and the other person, but Young is believed to have fired several shots before fleeing the scene. Descriptions provided in court documents also indicate that Young was spotted wearing a green teddy bear backpack and had long dreadlocks at the Chiefs rally.

The shooting occurred just moments after the conclusion of the Chiefs parade and rally on Valentine's Day. Police report that shots were fired west of the main stage area, causing hundreds of people to scatter in panic. First responders swiftly attended to multiple gunshot victims, with a total of eleven individuals, aged 6 to 15, being transported to Children's Mercy Hospital. Among them, nine had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, the shooting resulted in a total of 22 injured individuals and one fatality - radio DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan.

Prior to this new development, two suspects had already been charged with murder in connection to Lopez-Galvan's death. Lyndell Mays, 23, and Dominic Miller, 18, were previously identified as being allegedly involved in the shooting. It has been noted by law enforcement officials that the incident stemmed from a dispute between two groups of people.

Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker has requested that Young be held on a $1 million bond. The prosecutor's office has also issued a clarification regarding previous news reports that incorrectly stated Young's involvement in an unrelated shooting at Crown Center on January 17, 2024. The probable cause document indicates that Young was captured on video uploaded to YouTube on January 18, 2024, and was also seen in surveillance footage from Crown Center, but these sightings were on different dates.

The ongoing investigation into the mass shooting aims to shed further light on the series of events that led to the tragic loss of life and multiple injuries. As the legal proceedings continue, the community mourns the loss of Lisa Lopez-Galvan and hopes for justice to be served for all those affected by this senseless act of violence.
