**Remembering Dikembe Mutombo: A Legendary Nugget and Cherished Denver Community Figure**

During his remarkable five-year tenure with the Denver Nuggets, Dikembe Mutombo became known not just for his shot-blocking prowess and signature finger wag, but also for his daily visits to Pasta Pasta Pasta in Cherry Creek. "This is my favorite spot here," Mutombo once shared in an NBA feature about his life off the court.

Although Pasta Pasta Pasta closed its doors several years ago, the recent passing of Mutombo brought a wave of nostalgic and heartwarming memories to Patti Pathman, the co-owner of the restaurant. She reminisced about the day when Mutombo effortlessly tossed a piece of scrap paper into the trash can from across the room, leaving everyone in awe. His frequent visits often included bringing teammates along and recommending dishes from the menu.

Pathman fondly recalled inviting the towering 7-foot-2 center to her home on one occasion, uncertain if he would accept. To her delight, Mutombo arrived in his recognizable black car with “DM 55” license plates, quickly drawing the excited attention of neighborhood children who chased after his car.

Mutombo’s visit was memorable not only for his physical presence but also for his interactions. He admired Pathman’s home, particularly its vaulted ceilings, and spent time with her son, gifting him a signed basketball and posters that remain cherished possessions.

Another vivid memory from Pathman’s collection was delivering food to Mutombo’s specially modified home. The countertops, raised to accommodate his height, were almost out of reach for her. She humorously mused that Mutombo would need to find another tall buyer if he ever sold the house.
