In a distressing incident, a widowed Texas mother and her 75-year-old mother were removed from a United flight from San Francisco to Austin after the mother accidentally referred to a female-identifying United Airlines employee as a man. The incident, captured on video and shared by Jenna Longoria, has sparked controversy and accusations of unjust treatment.

The footage shows United operations manager Gabriella Chidom informing Longoria that she would not be allowed to board the flight due to "what came out of her mouth," although Chidom was not the employee who was misgendered. United Airlines claimed in a statement that Longoria was not allowed to board the flight due to an issue with carry-on bags. However, the video footage suggests a different reason for her removal.

Longoria vehemently disagreed with the airline's explanation, stating that it "makes no sense." She accused United Airlines of providing different versions of events to cover up their unjust actions. According to Longoria, the incident occurred after she mistakenly referred to a female flight attendant as a man when expressing her frustration about her mother not being allowed to pre-board the plane.

United Airlines employee became visibly upset, pointing out that the flight attendant was a woman wearing a dress. Following the exchange, Longoria claims the flight attendant instructed her to get off the plane and said, "I don't like what you said, I can deny you entrance, someone will come to assist you." Despite offering multiple apologies and explaining her distraction due to her son having a meltdown, Longoria was not allowed back on the flight.

Upon returning to the airport gate, Longoria encountered United manager Gabriella Chidom, who informed her that she would not be allowed to board the plane. Chidom did not offer an alternative flight or provide further information, only stating that someone would be in touch and threatening that Longoria could be banned from the airline. It was only after she shared her story on social media that United provided her with a later flight.

Longoria emphasizes that her actions were not politically motivated and that her primary concern was her son and elderly mother. She expressed remorse for misgendering the airline employee and stated that, as a distracted mother, she was focused on fulfilling her responsibilities.

In response to the incident, United Airlines issued a statement casting doubt on Longoria's version of events. The airline spokesperson stated that a discussion about excessive carry-on items led to the party of three being denied boarding. However, DailyMail.com reached out to United Airlines for clarification regarding their statement but did not receive a response.

This incident has raised concerns about the treatment of passengers and the importance of inclusive language and understanding. The video evidence has sparked a debate on the actions taken by United Airlines in response to Longoria's unintentional misgendering and whether it was a justifiable reason for her removal from the flight.
