The Houston Texans have made a series of roster moves as they trim their squad down to 53 players for the upcoming NFL season. Several players have been placed on injured reserve and designated to return, while others have been waived or released. The team has also placed players on reserve/non-football illness and reserve/suspended lists. These moves come as the Texans gear up for their season opener.

Linebacker Christian Harris and defensive tackle Kurt Hinish have been placed on injured reserve/designated to return. This means they will miss the first four games of the season but will become eligible to return to the active roster thereafter. Safety Brandon Hill and quarterback Case Keenum, on the other hand, have been placed on season-ending injured reserve. They have the possibility of returning later this season if the Texans choose to waive them with an injury settlement.

Defensive end Dylan Horton will begin the season on the reserve/non-football illness list. Meanwhile, defensive end Denico Autry finds himself on the reserve/suspended list. The specifics of their conditions were not disclosed in the announcement.

In terms of players waived, the Texans have let go of defensive tackle McTelvin Agim, linebacker Tarique Barnes, defensive end Solomon Byrd, wide receiver Quintez Cephus, offensive guard Dieter Eiselen, defensive end Malik Fisher, defensive end Ali Gaye, fullback Troy Hairston, defensive tackle Marcus Harris, wide receiver Johnny Johnson III, cornerback Troy Pride, wide receiver Ben Skowronek, running back J.J. Taylor, linebacker Max Tooley, and offensive tackle Kilian Zierer. This move signifies that the Texans have decided to part ways with these players.

Additionally, the Texans have released fullback Nick Bawden, fullback Andrew Beck, quarterback Tim Boyle, wide receiver Noah Brown, offensive tackle Cameron Erving, cornerback Mike Ford, offensive tackle Charlie Heck, cornerback CJ Henderson, safety Lonnie Johnson Jr., cornerback Desmond King II, linebacker Jacob Phillips, offensive guard Chris Reed, offensive tackle David Sharpe, and cornerback D'Angelo Ross. These players are now free agents and can sign with any other team that may be interested.

On the injury front, running back Jawhar Jordan, defensive end Pheldarius Payne, and tight end Teagan Quitoriano have been waived/injured. This means that if they clear waivers, they will revert to the team's injured reserve list.

The Texans' roster moves reflect their efforts to create a cohesive and competitive team heading into the new season. With the regular season fast approaching, the coaching staff and players are working tirelessly to fine-tune their strategies and game plans for a successful campaign.
