Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Team NINJA have shared insights on the combat mechanics of their upcoming open-world action adventure game "Rise of the Ronin." Set in the final days of the Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan, known as Bakumatsu, the game offers players a chance to experience satisfying melee mechanics blended with firearms.

Team NINJA, renowned for its precise combat systems seen in games like Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, aims to continue its legacy in Rise of the Ronin. Players can expect a deep combat system involving draining enemies' Ki, mastering Martial Skills, and utilizing different fighting styles with melee weapons and ranged firearms.

In "Rise of the Ronin," players will battle through historic Japan using a combination of melee weapons like Katanas and spears, alongside ranged foreign firearms. The combat strategy includes performing melee attacks, guarding, and dodging while keeping track of both the player's and the enemies' Ki.
